With family in town, we decided to head over to Floataway Cafe and bring along a special bottle or two.
I've been both hoarding and collecting a few Sine Qua Non bottles for awhile, and thought popping one open with my dad would be a worthwhile experience.
2004 Sine Qua Non "The Rejuvenators"
(USA, CA) Viognier, Roussanne, and Chardonnay Blend. Auction Purchase
Almost solid yellow in color. Initial aromas of rocks, minerals, nuts, and waxy honeycomb. With time, more grapefruit and lime aromas. Heavy and viscous on the palate- almost the concentration of an off-vintage Sauternes. An enormous, mineral and citrus driven finish.
This is ridiculous juice. Heavy, wonderful, truly dense stuff. It completely rocked with my Snapper dish. I felt fortunate to be able to share this, and lucky to even have it.
