The Atlanta Wine School is doing a Riedel stemware tasting April 30th at Park Tavern on ATL's Piedmont Park. I haven't previously posted about any Atlanta Wine School programs, but this looks like a good deal.
$60 Gets you....
-Wine Tasting
-A Seminar from Max Riedel CEO of Riedel
-4 Riedel Vinum XL Stems ($20-$30 a stem at retail)
-Door Prizes / Raffle
-A chance to kick me in the nuts.
Is there a catch? I wouldn't say that, but you get 4 different stems- Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Riesling (which doubles for Zinfandel), and Montrachet / White Burgundy. So, if you really like them, you probably want to go out and buy more to complete a set.
OR-- Get 4 of your friends together, everyone choose one stem type, and then everyone in your group walks out with four of one stem. (and you can happily buy any others at your leisure).
Again, I have no idea at what is going to be poured, if this will be fun, or what-- but it is a great deal just for the stems. As an added bonus, if it is raining after the session, you can go downstairs to Park Tavern and drink $1 beer "when it rains they pour". I just refuse to vouch for the quality of their brews.
