I am no expert on Moonshine or spirits, but I do have a fascination with the stuff. Last night, I was privileged enough to have a tasting of some of Blount County TN's finest. One uncut and sharp as a razor trimming bullet holes, another as smooth as high end tequila, another barrel aged like fine whiskey-- But one I was very curious about was the "Apple Pie". A fruity, spicy concoction that goes down easy and that had seemingly provided me with the ability to both see through walls and to be the funniest man alive. This is some dangerously delicious juice. It tastes as delicious as the name describes-- I was able to get a copy of the simple recipe.
Now to envision this as a grand taste-a-thon is a little wrong. We took tiny amounts- 1/2 oz or less tastes, because not only is this strong, but we needed to keep our palates for another kind of dirty beverage-- Grower Champagne!
I will talk more about this Champagne in an upcoming video with Peter Wasserman, but man.... I wanted another bottle before finishing our video editing.
For ATL locals- This is available at Tower Wine on Piedmont for about $50. It can be located online through Snooth.com. It is not inexpensive- but it is very good. I'll post more on this soon.
