While at the Ferry Building in SF a few weeks back, Tanya and I bumped into a friend and neighbor, Tripp Donelan, from Pax / Donelan Family Wines. Somehow we convinced Tripp that he had to head back to Tanya's kitchen and shoot a video with us. Tripp obliged and was thrown into a whirlwind of cookies and wine.
Tanya makes a good point- When dinner is over, and you still have a 1/2 bottle of red wine left, what do you pair with it? Desserts that are too sweet clash with many reds, and not everyone has a wheel of aged cheddar hanging in the back- Her answer- Chocolate Chip cookies.
We tried her recipe with the 2007 Pax Walker Vine Hill Syrah. A killer syrah on its own, but something that worked eerily well with Tanya's baked goods. Here here! I'm keeping cookie dough in the freezer from now on.
