With a ton of buzz this week about the rise, fall, and arrest of wine counterfeiter, Rudi Kurniawan. I'm less interested in his take down, and far more interested in one detail- "• Bottles of moderately priced California wine with writing on the bottles indicating that the California wines would be used to pass as expensive Bordeaux wines."
The real story is, which CA wines were being pawned off as legendary Bordeaux (and I assume Burgundy) vintages?
Someone is going to need to step up and start counterfeiting them real fast! (I'll rent the hand-corker!)
This will be a marketing field day and game changer for the CA Wineries being used in the dupes!
